Charges against a suspect alleged to have beaten a man in a Huntington Beach home have been filed against him by the Orange County District Attorney.

On Tuesday, the OCDA listed the charges against Zachary Romanak, 49.

He is facing the offenses of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury (a felony); making criminal threats (a felony) and resisting a peace officer (a misdemeanor).

Romanak is in custody at Orange County Jail in Santa Ana with bail set at $20,000.

The incident took place on Thursday, December 18 at a home in the 5700 block of Edinger Avenue. Police were summoned in response to reports of a “fight in progress.”

A standoff between the suspect and police lasted almost six hours before Romanak surrendered after officers deployed “special munitions.”

  1. Interesting, but the article is absent of significant information. Not that the public is driven by desire to hear gorey details. Was there a dispute that was exclusive to two people? Was the prime suspect trained in offensive combative tactics? Follow up as to the prime suspect relationship to HB and if the individual is known to have prior history of violent behavior here in HB.
