A student at Westminster High School with a firearm was removed from the campus without incident on Wednesday.
According to Commander Bill Drinnin of the WPD, a report of a pupil “seen with a firearm in his possession on school grounds” at about 2 p.m. brought a response from officers.
The student was removed from class, but a firearm was not located on the student or hispersonal belongings. But it was found at the juvenile’s home and the gun turned out to be a previously stolen firearm.
The juvenile was booked at Orange County Juvenile Hall for possession of a firearm in a school zone.
According to the WPD, this is believed to be an “isolated incident” and there’s no ongoing threat at the school or community.
