A Huntington Beach woman was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in federal prison for embezzling almost $3 million from a Garden Grove-based noodle company.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Tai Miyaii Jones, 50, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Fred W. Slaughter, who also ordered her to pay $2,894,441 in restitution.
She pleaded guilty in October 2025 to seven counts of mail fraud and three counts of wire fraud.
From December 2017 to July 2023 Jones was account manager for Sanyo Foods of America, located in the light industrial district of West Garden Grove.
She illegally transferred money from the business’ accounts to her personal accounts to pay for cars, personal credit card charges, luxury items (including jewelry) and real estate in Alabama and Hawaii.
