The political struggle over the redrawing of seats in the U.S. House of Representatives in order to gain a political advantage in the 2026 elections, continues.
According to the Associated Press, both Republicans and Democrats face sought to “gerrymander” state electoral maps to gain advantage for their party, but GOP efforts have been rewarded by the courts so far.
According to the AP, an effort to redraw the boundaries in Missouri to add more Republican-leaning seats was upheld by the Missouri Supreme Court, but a similar push in South Carolina failed.
With the House already closely divided and the incumbent party typically losing some seats in a midyear election, President Donald Trump has pushed Republican sate party organizations to approve new, more favorable maps.
That has been made possible by a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that drawing maps based on politics was constitutional, but maps based on race were not.

The estimate also claims that Iran retains 70 percent of its prewar missile stockpile and a smaller number of cruise missiles.
A White House spokeswoman replied that Iran’s military has been “crushed” anyone who “thinks Iran has reconstituted its military is either delusional or a mouthpiece” for Iran.
She made mention of a social media post by President Donald Trump that declaring that Iran’s military was still strong was “virtual treason.”
