Bats cold for Angels, Dodgers

THE DODGERS and Angels each suffered losses on Tuesday

The Los Angeles Angels continued to slide, losing 3-2 to the Cleveland Guardians on the road Tuesday night, outhitting the home team, but leaving 10 potential runs on base.

With the loss, the Halos are 16-27 and remain in fourth and last place in the American League West.

The Angels had 10 hits and four players walked, but were zero-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Mike Trout and Nolan Schanuel each had two hits for the team.

Walbert Urena (1-4) continued to be a ‘hard-luck” pitcher.

He worked five innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs. He struck out five batters and walked one.

Giants 6, Dodgers 2: Shohei Ohtani broke out of his hitting slump with two hits, including a home run-on Tuesday night, but the rest of the Blue Crew did not as the Giants prevailed.

The Dodgers (24-18) have now lost four games in a row and remain in second place in the National League West, a half-game back of the San Diego Padres.

Ohtani’s seventh home run of the year – a solo shot in the bottom of the third – give the Dodgers a 2-1 lead, but the rest of the scoring would be done by the Giants (18-24), who tallied twice in the fifth and three times in the seventh.

The Dodgers gathered just four hits on the night to the visitors’ 10.
