Hit-and-run incident takes a life

A PEDESTRIAN has fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident (Shutterstock).

A pedestrian was fatally injured when struck by two vehicles on Sunday, June 14. in Westminster.

According to Commander William Drinnin of the WPD, the incident took place in he area of 9200 Bolsa Avenue, between Magnolia and Bushard streets.

Police received a call about the collision at around 9:37 p.m. Upon arrival, no life-saving measures were administered because of the severity of the injuries. Orange County Fire Authority later pronounced the pedestrian deceased.

In the investigation that followed, it was determined that the pedestrian was struck by two vehicles, both of which fled the scene.

The identity of the deceased is withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The WPD Traffic Division’s investigation revealed that one of the drivers was located in the City of Anaheim. Driving under the influence doesn’t appear to be a factor.

The other vehicle that fled the scene was not located and is described as a newer blue or black Toyota Rav 4, last seen eastbound on Bolsa Avenue from the scene.
