Editor’s note: This summary includes only local municipal election information such as for city council and mayor. School board and other election details will be in our Wednesday, Aug. 12 edition.

The 2026 local election campaign for our cities of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster is underway. These lists were provided by the city clerks of our cities and will likely not be final as candidates may be disqualified for a variety of reasons, including residency, flawed nomination petitions, etc.
Otherewise these names will be on the ballot on Nov. 3.

Garden Grove: For mayor, the candidates are: Stephanie Klopfenstein (incumbent), Tu -Ha Nguyen; for Council District 1: Helen Chung, Roger Flanders, Long Tran Nguyen and William Zylla. For Council District 3: Amanda Nguyen, Thomas Quoc Thai Nguyen, Cindy Ngoc Tran (incumbent). For Councilmember District 4: Phat Bui, Joe DoVinh (incumbent), Amanda Mohr, Hieu Nguyen.

Huntington Beach (three seats): Amory Hanson, Brian Burley, Pat Burns (incumbent), Taryn Palumbo, Brian Thienes, Erin Spivey, Brenda Glim, Andrew Gruel (incumbent), Rosalind Price, Casey McKeon (incumbent), Ben Davis.

Stanton: For mayor; David Shawver (incumbent). For Council District 1: Thomas Frazier. Donald Torres (incumbent). For Council District 3: Debora Donathan, DeWayne A. Normand, Marlon-Ray Velasco.

Westminster: For mayor: Kimberly Ho, Carlos Manzo, Nguyen Hung, Chi Charlie Nguyen (incumbent). For Council District 1: David Johnson, Amy Phan West (incumbent), Michael Fenton. For Council District 4: Loan Nguyen, Kelly Daniels, NamQuan Nguyen (incumbent), Khai Dao.
