large group of people on small vehicles came to Huntington Beach on Sunday and – some, perhaps – leaned a lesson.
According to the HBPD, those coming into the city were riding “mini-bikes” – a smaller version of motorcycles. Officers responded to multiple calls for service regarding reckless driving.
Most of the mini-bikes drivers scattered as police arrived, but not all were able to get away. Two juveniles were detained for driving recklessly.
Their mother was arrested for child endangerment because she allegedly knowingly allowed her children to drive recklessly.
Also taken into custody was a man who had fallen from his pocket bike. He was arrested for reckless driving and for driving on a suspended license.
When a juvenile arrived on the scene on a pocket bike, the father – whom police believe had encouraged the “reckless activity” – was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.”
Police impounded numerous pocket bikes.
