Hot days with us for weeks

A HEAT WAVE is still hitting Orange County (Shutterstock).

Hot, muggy weather is expected to continue this week in the West Orange County area through the weekend.

The forecast for Wednesday is for partly cloudy skies with a daytime high of 99 (with an overnight low of 75).

Thursday should cool a bit to 92 and again to 86 on Friday. Gradual cooling should continue on Saturday to 85 with a 19 percent chance of rain, and Sunday to 84.

Forecasts through Sept. 23 call for continued highs in the low-to-mid 80s.

A cooling center will be open on Wednesday at the Garden Grove Sports and Recreation Center, 13641 Deodara Dr. (in Garden Grove Park), across from Bolsa Grande High School.

For seniors, the H. Louis Lake Senior Center, 11300 Stanford Ave., will extend its hours to 5 p.m.
