Oilers go to 4-0 with victory

Brady Edmunds passed for 274 yards and four touchdowns as the Huntington Beach High Oilers improved their record to 4-0 on Thursday night with a 28-14 win over the Redondo Union Sea Hawks (now 3-1).

They’ll next be in action on Friday, Sept. 18 hosting Yorba Linda in their final pre-league game before starting Delta League action hosting El Modena (2-0).

Santiago lost a 44-38 slugfest to Savanna High on Thursday night. The Cavaliers (1-2) led 16-14 after one quarter but were outscored 30-22 the rest of the way by the Rebels (3-1).

Next up for the Cavaliers is Sept. 18 non-league game against district rival Rancho Alamitos (2-0)

La Quinta improved to 3-0 with a 29-24 win over Magnolia (1-2). The Aztecs are tied for first place in the Tango League with Savanna, both at 2-0.

Next up for the blue-and-gold is a road game against Loara (2-1 overall, 1-0 in league) on Thursday. The potential “showdown” with Savanna is on Friday, Oct. 16 with the Rebels hosting.
