Another (minor) hazmat call

ORANGE COUNTY Fire Authority crews responded to a hazmat incident in Garden Grove on Wednesday (OCFA photo).

A hazardous material incident inside a factory in Grove Grove on Wednesday triggered a response from the Orange County Fire Authority.

According to the OCFA, water came into contact with sodium hydroxide and/or sulfuric acid, triggering a chemical reaction. The result was a release of some vapor.

Hazmat crews quickly responded to the video manufacturing facility at 12650 Westminster Ave. (between Harbor Boulevard and Fairview Street) at around 11:26 a.m. and were able to contain the reaction to a single room before safely neutralizing the hazard.

There were no injuries and no threat to the public. Cleanup was handled by the Orange County Health Care Agency.
