THE TRIBUNE will be posting results of Tuesday’s election as they become available.

Tuesday is Election Day, and the Orange County Tribune will be posting results of local elections here on this site. Some key points:

  • The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. statewide and in the county. According to the Orange County Registrar of Voters, the results will be collected in the various communities and make their way to the Santa Ana headquarters where tallying will begin around 9 p.m. Consequently, there may not be any meaningful results until after 9:30 or even 10 p.m. We expect to be up late, and early.
  • We will be reporting on election results directly affecting the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area with a special emphasis on city council races (including mayoral, city clerk and city treasurer contests) in those cities, as well as school board races for the Garden Grove, Huntington Beach City, Huntington Beach Union High, Ocean View and Westminster school districts.
  • Also of interest will be school bond issues for the Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Ocean View and Westminster districts and a 1 cent sales tax in the city of Westminster. School bonds must be approved by 55 percent of voters; the sales tax requires only a simple majority.
  • We will also post selected returns from other races, with special attention to the race of the 1st District seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors between incumbent Andrew Do and challenger Michelle Martinez.

The Trib will do its job of reporting the results; we hope you’ll do your job and vote.
