The pursuit of a suspect with a no-bail warrant that began in Garden Grove Thursday night ended up with his arrest in Santa Ana.
According to the GGPD, Jacob Francisco Rodriguez, 34, was apprehended after a chase that started at 9 p.m. in Garden Grove and went through Orange before concluding in the county seat.
Looking for a reported stolen vehicle, GGPD officers found it in the area of Trask Avenue and Euclid Street, moving north on Euclid. The driver didn’t respond to police efforts to halt, and a chase was on.
Garden Grove police broke off the chase when it went into Orange, but with the help of a police helicopter, Santa Ana officers took up the pursuit when the fleeing vehicle entered their city. The suspect’s car stopped in the 1200 block of St. Anne Place, and the fugitive fled on foot. He was found hiding in an outhouse in the rear yard of a home.
Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Garden Grove jail for booking.
