Apt. building fire displaces 11 families

Eleven families were displaced by an apartment house fire Friday morning in Garden Grove. According to Capt. Thanh Nguyen of the Garden Grove Fire Department, the blaze in the 12500 block of Josephine Street was reported at 7:48 a.m.

Firefighters were able to evacuate all the residents safely, and it took about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire.

The building was “red-tagged” by the city building department as not habitable until repairs are made. Damage to the structure is estimated at $250,000 and $50,000 to contents.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
