ORANGE HIGH’S football team advanced to the CIF-SS Division 13 finals with its win Saturday.

Orange High’s football team powered its way to the CIF-SS Division 13 championship game with a 52-8 rout of Santa Clara Saturday night in the semifinal contest at Fred Kelly Stadium.

The Panthers (11-2) will face Silver Valley (9-3) in the title game on Dec. 2.

Jason Wilkinson passed for 192 yards and one score, and ran for 38 yards and another touchdown for OHS. Joseph Martinez rushed for 174 yards and a score as the Panthers extended a 16-0 halftime lead into 48-8 edge after three quarters.

Cavs, Argos, Seahawks tip off with wins

Just as the prep football season is drawing to a close, the basketball campaigns are getting underway. In the Ocean View/Coaches for a Cause Tournament on Saturday, Santiago, Garden Grove and Ocean View all posted wins in the boys’ tournament.

Top local scorers included Andrew Brown (Pacifica), Sebastian Castro (Garden Grove) and Mehkel Harvey (Ocean View), all with 17 points each.
