A man in a “suspicious vehicle” was arrested by Westminster police Thursday morning in the 15200 block of Newland Street near Russell Paris Park.
A search of his vehicle turned up heroin, prescription drugs, a scale, and a handgun. The suspect was booked for drug sales, being under the influence of drugs and possession of a firearm. Since he was a convicted felon, a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm will be added.
Brush fire knocked out by HBFD
Not all the fires were in Los Angeles County on Thursday. The Huntington Beach Fire Department fought a vegetation blaze in Bartlett Park near Adams Avenue and Beach Boulevard in the morning.
Students and staff from the nearby La Petite Academy were evacuated by police. There were no reported injuries.
