Two-for-one proposal goes to planners

A DEVELOPER is proposing to tear down one house in Garden Grove and replace it with two.

A proposal to tear down one single-story house and replace it with two two-story homes will go before the Garden Grove Planning Commission when it meets on Thursday, May 3.

The developer is asking for a site plan and tentative parcel map for a location at the northwest corner of Imperial Avenue and Gilbert Street at 9241 Imperial Ave. The request is to subdivide the existing 18,470-square foot lot into two parcels of 9,387 and 9,035 square feet, with a new home constructed on each.

Also on the agenda is a continued public hearing asking for a conditional use permit to allow Verizon Wireless to install 25 small wireless communications facilities disguised as street lights, replacing in those cases the existing Southern California Edison street-lights in the city.

The planners meet at 7 p.m. in the council chamber inside the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
