Firefighters from four cities united to extinguish a fire in a single family home in Huntington Beach on Friday morning.
According to Marco Tello of the HBFD, the blaze was at a house located at 22091 Susan Ln. It was reported at 10:53 a.m.
Units from Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley and Costa Mesa combined in the effort. Arriving firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from the eaves and attic vents of the building.
The resident was trying to salvage property and was escorted out of the burning structure to safety. Firefighters at one point sought to fight the fire from the inside of the building, but when the roof collapsed party, they were pulled out and resumed their efforts from the exterior.
Eventually it was possible for fire crews to re-enter the house and perform salvage and overhaul work.
There were no injuries.
