One person is dead and another hospitalized in a traffic collision Friday afternoon in Huntington Beach.
According to Sgt. Julio Mendez of the HBPD, the crash occurred near the intersection of Warner Avenue and Nichols Lane at around 3:40 p.m.
Arriving officers found an 85-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man. The woman, who had been driving, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment of her injuries. The male passengers Fountain Valley resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. They had been traveling in a 2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
The other vehicle was a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria driven by a 24-year-old Garden Grove man. He remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
It appears that both vehicles were traveling eastbound on Warner when they collided near the intersection. The Tacoma rolled over and came to rest in the westbound lanes of traffic.
