A woman trying to avoid eviction from a residence in Huntington Beach found herself confronted by a wide array of law enforcement agencies and officers on Tuesday.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the OCSD’s civil bureau sought to serve an eviction notice to a 64-year-old woman on Bimini Lane in the Huntington Harbour area at 10 a.m.

She answered the door, but then allegedly threatened deputies with a weapon and refused to leave, barricading herself inside the home, reportedly with “access to multiple weapons.”

Called to the scene were the OCSD’s SWAT team, a K-9 team and a Crisis Negotiation Team along with officers from the Huntington Beach Police Department. She refused commands to come out, according to the OCSD.

Finally, at 3:15 p.m., deputies obtained a warrant and entered the building. She was taken into custody without incident or injury. She was taken to a hospital for assessment and then booked into Orange County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
