LOARA won the GGL baseball crown outright Friday with a 22-2 win over Santiago (Shutterstock).

Loara crowned itself the outright 2019 Garden Grove League baseball champion Friday afternoon with 22-2 romp over Santiago High.

The Saxons, in their first year in the Garden Grove League, built a 17-2 lead after two innings and went on from there.  LHS is 13-0 in league and 15-8 overall. Santiago is 1-12 in GGL action and 2-12 overall.

In the Empire League, Pacifica continued its battle for third place and a CIF playoff berth with an 8-4 victory over Tustin. The M’s are 4-4 in the EL and 12-13 overall.

Softball action saw Los Alamitos and Edison split a pair of games, with the Griffins winning 5-1 and then the Chargers flipping with script with a 2-0 win.
