Seeking to put a homely 9-4 loss on Saturday to the Kansas City Royals behind them, the Los Angeles Angels today (Sunday) will again take on KC in an 11:15 a.m. (Pacific time) game.

Jaime Barria was hammered for 10 hits and seven runs in 1.2 innings that erased an early 1-0 Angel lead. The Halos rallied for three in the top of the fourth, but that wasn’t enough to give the Angels the win.

The loss put the team’s record at 11-17, six games out of the lead in fifth place in the American League West.

The Orange County team was outhit 15 to 7 and the long ball that sustained them through a two-game winning streak was absent on Saturday, although Mike Trout and Tommy La Stella did smack doubles that drove in a total of three runs. La Stella and Kole Calhoun had the best days, each getting a pair of hits.

Matt Harvey will get the ball for the Halos today. He’s got an 0-2 record and an 8.04 ERA. Opposing him will be Homer Bailey (2-2, 5.63 ERA).
