Burglary suspect arrested at market

According to Sgt. Bob Stephenson of the GGPD, a burglary alarm was sounded around 12:56 a.m. at the Best Choice Supermarket at 12081 Brookhurst St. Long-time residents will recognize the location as the original site of a J.J. Newberry’s junior department store.

Officers arriving at the scene found a smashed front window. A suspect was spotted, but hid from officers. “Officers gave the suspect multiple commands to exit the business but he did not comply,” according to Sgt. Stephenson.

A search of the building resulted in the arrest of Luke Carrillo, who was later booked into Orange County Jail.
