Grant’s hat trick stopped a skid

THE ANAHEIM DUCKS snapped a four-game losing streak with a win on Saturday (Shutterstock).

Derek Grant’s first career hat trick propelled the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-1 win Saturday over the Blues in St. Louis, a much-needed victory for the Orange County team.

That win snapped a four-game losing streak and kept the Ducks in fifth place in the NHL Pacific Division with a 10-9-2 record and 22 points.

Before that victory, the Ducks lost to the San Jose Sharks 5-3 on Thursday and to the Detroit Wings 5-3 in overtime on Tuesday.

Looking ahead, Anaheim will host the Washington Capitals on Monday, and then take on the Florida Panthers on Thursday at home and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Nov. 23 (Saturday).
