5,646 virus cases; 2,090 recovered

NEW CORONAVIRUS cases in Orange County were reported Wednesday at 116 new cases and five deaths (Flickr).

Wednesday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency is a case of glass half-full or half-empty.

The OCHCA reported 116 new confirmed new cases of coronavirus, bringing the to-date total to 5,646, including 617 residents of skilled nursing facilities and 369 inmates of county jails.

Five deaths were reported on Wednesday, bringing that total to 136, including 55 from skilled nursing facilities.

The OCHCA has added a new statistic of cumulative COVID-19 patients recovered to date, and that number is 2,090.

One thousand eighty-eight tests are tallied in the report, bringing the cumulative total to 109,013. The number of cases hospitalized is 274, with 101 in intensive care units.

The city-by-city-count shows Santa Ana still the leader, with 1,063, followed by Anaheim with 944, Huntington Beach with 329, Garden Grove with 302, and Orange with 264.

Local cities Westminster and Stanton have 113 and Stanton 74, respectively.
