A proposal to establish a nightclub and banquet facility in the vicinity of the Civic Center goes before the Westminster Planning Commission when it meets on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The applicant, David Vo, is requesting two conditional use permits and one administrative use permit to establish the business at 14190 Beach Blvd., between 13th and 15th streets. The proposed business – called OC Entertainment – would serve beer, wine and “hard liquor” daily from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Because the proposed operation would be located in what the Westminster Police Department considers a “high crime” area, certain conditions are suggested, including serving alcohol in glassware distinctly different from non-alcoholic drinks, and a ban on serving alcohol outdoors.

Other conditions apply to the clothing to be worn by servers.

The meeting will be held via teleconference at 6:30 p.m.
