David Johnson
Westminster School District, Governing Board Member, Trustee Area 1
Age: 50
City Commissioner / Businessman
I believe every child deserves a great education, and each parent deserves a Trustee who will meet with them often and be responsive. I want to close the education gap and ensure that our taxes are spent wisely. As a long time Westminster resident, the husband of a public school teacher, and parent to school age children, I am personally invested in the success of our schools.
I have demonstrated my commitment to Westminster through public service including:
WSD Reopening Schools Committee, WSD Safety Committee, WSD LCAP Committee, PTA Volunteer, Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Westminster Homeless Task Force, City Commissioner, Community Services & Recreation
As a Management Consultant, I work with universities, non-profits, and corporations identifying and implementing comprehensive organizational improvements. As a Trustee, I would use my expertise and your input to assess program efficacy, implement interventions to ensure the success of all students, and ensure budget transparency. It is the role of the Board Member to ensure strong student-centered outcomes in a way that is financially prudent.
I will bring critical thinking, service-focused leadership, and collaborative solutions to the Board.
Endorsements: WSD Teachers (WTA), WSD Staff (CSEA), Vietnamese American Voters Foundation, Westminster Parents Association, WSD Trustees: Jamison Power and Jeremy Khalaf
Candidates for local non-partisan offices (city council and school board) are invited to submit candidate statements to us at orangecountytribune@gmail.com. Deadline is Friday, Oct. 30.
