High winds on Tuesday were a factor in the efforts of the Huntington Beach Fire Department to contain and extinguish a blaze in the Huntington Harbour area.

Arriving firefighters found smoke pouring from the attic of a home on Venture Drive.

The winds blew embers across the street and ignited a fire of on the roof a second house, but that blaze was knocked down immediately. At the first home, a cat was rescued from the flames and was returned to its owner. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
