The number of new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Orange County decreased again in Thursday’s report.
According to the Orange County Health Care Agency, new cases dropped to 174 from 325 on Wednesday. Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 stayed even at 515, but the use of intensive care units to treat coronavirus cases rose from 151 on Wednesday to 160 today (Thursday).
However, 41 deaths were reported, a departure from the tallies of zero reported the previous two days. Historically, such big jumps in the statistics result from “catching up” on cases and reports.
The to-date total of coronavirus cases in the county is now at 245,634, of which 228,838 are reconsidered recovered. Total deaths are at 3,889.

Westminster has had 6,868 cases and 152 deaths. Stanton has had 3,088 cases and 47 deaths.
