If you’re going to carry an illegal gun, drugs and other items that might point to the sale of narcotics, it’s probably a good idea to make sure your car is in perfect shape and you drive carefully.

Last week, according to the Garden Grove Police Department, officers from its Community Impact Unit were patrolling in the area of Katella Avenue and Mac Street when they noticed a car “displaying vehicle code violations.”

A traffic stop follow and – according to officers – the driver immediately got out of the car. Both she – Alyssa Lira, 18, of Gardena – and passenger –Jose Rivera, 22, of Anaheim – were what was described as “continually uncooperative” with officers. They were taken into custody and booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana for felony possession of a firearm and multiple charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Police say that during the search and inventory of the car, officers found a loaded Glock “ghost gun,” a weapon with no identifying serial number. Additionally, they confiscated methamphetamine, Xanax, $3,658 in cash and other items “indicative of narcotics sales.”
