Six hurt in bus vs. minivan crash

Six people were injured – two of them seriously – when a charter school bus collided with a minivan Monday afternoon in Santa Ana.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the crash took place on South Daisy Street at Willits Street.

The impact of the contact propelled the bus onto the front lawn of a home.  The engine compartment of the van was crushed and the windshield broken. 

Firefighter-paramedics treated the injured. One adult and one child were taken as trauma patients to area hospitals accompanied by paramedics. Another child was taken to a hospital via an ambulance.

Three other patients declined transportation. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
