Confirmed new cases of coronavirus surged again in Friday’s report from the Orange County Health Care Agency.
According to the OCHCA, new cases were 11,020, compared to 6,532 on Thursday and 4,261 on Wednesday. Deaths rose from five to seven. Declines were noted in two other categories. Hospitalizations fell from 1,183 to 1,144 and the use of intensive care units to treat COVID-19 patients declined from 199 to 188.
So far, Orange County has had 477,127 cases, of which 325,154 are considered recovered. The total of deaths is at 5,953.
Nationally, The New York Times is reporting that – over a 14-day period – new cases are up 21 percent and deaths by 45 percent. In California, Los Angeles Times reports that cases are up 45 percent and deaths by 57 percent over a similar period.

What about all the people who have Covid and tested positive on home tests? They are not counted anywhere. I tried to find a place to “report” my positive, and got nowhere.
