AN INMATE in the Huntington Beach City Jail died Friday morning (Shutterstock).

An inmate at the Huntington Beach Jail died on Friday.

According to Public Information Officer Jennifer Carey, Trevor Randall Loflin, 26, had been booked into the jail late Thursday evening for public intoxication.

While alone in a cell, he had a medical emergency Friday morning. Jail staff rendered life-saving measures but he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to Carey, his death does not appear to be suspicious and the cause of death will be determined following a toxicology report and autopsy.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will be investigating the death.
