Pay and benefit raises for various categories of employment are on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council.
The council will consider agreements with employee unions, a middle management group and central management and city manager.
Employees represented by the Orange County Employees Association (Garden Grove Chapter), Orange County Employee’s Association and Orange County Employee’s League will get a 3 percent pay increase effective July 2022, 3 percent base salary increase effective July 2023 and a 3 percent salary increase effective July 2024. Additionally, medical benefit contribution increases in July 2022, January 2024 and January 2025, and longevity pay of 5 percent for completion of 20 years of full-time employment and 5 percent assignment pay for those assigned to assist the GGPD Homeless Liaison Unit.
Middle management employees will get similar pay and benefit improvements along with a classification and compensation study to “validate and assess” classification and compensation within the group.
Central management and the city manager will receive pay increases of 3.5 percent on July 2022, July 2023 and July 2024. Also, they will receive medical benefit contribution increases as being granted to other employee groups.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
