Shohei Ohtani and Charlie Morton were locked in a scoreless pitching duel Friday night in Atlanta for six innings. Morton came out of the game, but Shohei stayed in and probably wished he hadn’t.
The Los Angeles Angels’ superstar was blasted for two homers and six earned runs in the seventh inning, leading to a 8-1 Braves win.
Ohtani (9-5) struck out 11 batters as the Angels (39-54) took their fourth consecutive loss.
The Angels gathered just five hits on the night, and their run was scored on a ninth inning home run by Jonathan Villar.
On Saturday the Halos will try again against the Braves with Patrick Sandoval (3-5) making the start the Orange County team. Kyle Wright (11-4) will pitch for the Braves.
