For decades and decades, the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants have been rivals. But as Friday’s results show, it’s a pretty one-sided relationship this year.

Cody Bellinger hit a grand slam home run in the bottom of eighth to propel the Blue Crew to a 5-1 win at home. It was the team’s sixth consecutive victory. Now 62-30, the Dodgers lead the National League West by 10.5 games. and the Giants are in third at 48-45. So far in 2022, the Dodgers have win four of six games between the two.

“It feels great,” said Bellinger. “Not gonna lie, it feels real good to put the right swing on the ball and see the results.”

Going into his game-winning hit, he had gone 0-for-3 at the plate.

The preface to Bellinger’s home run was a top-notch pitching performance by Ty Anderson, who worked six innings, yielding four hits and one unearned run. He struck out six batters and walked two. The win in relief went to Alex Vesia (2-0).

On Saturday, the Dodgers will again take on the Giants with Julio Urias (1-1) making the start for LAD. Alex Wood (6-7) will take the mound for the Giants.
