
ONE PERSON was killed and another hospitalized in an early morning accident Sunday in Westminster (Shutterstock).
An early morning traffic collision in Westminster Sunday (today) killed one person and sent the other to the hospital.
According to Commander Kevin MacCormick of the WPD, the crash was reported at around 1:14 a.m. in the 15500 block of Magnolia Street (near McFadden Avenue).
Responding officers, along with units from the Orange County Fire Authority, found two vehicles which had collided in the roadway.
The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by OCFA paramedics. He was identified only as a male, 20 to 30 years old. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with unknown injuries.
The presence of alcohol as a contributing factor in the collision is suspected, according to MacCormick.
An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call Sgt. Anil Adam of the WPD at (714) 548-3770.
