Lockerbie suspect arrested

A suspect in the 1988 crash of Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, has been arrested.

According to the Associated Press, Abu Agula Mohammed Mas’ud Kheir Al-Marimi will be changed with planting the bomb that’s believed to have brought down the commercial jetliner and killed 259 people in the air and 11 on the ground.

After a long investigation, the suspect was named in 2020. A resident of Libya, that nation’s government has finally decided to turn him over to American authorities who will charge him with terrorism.

Orion splashes down in the Pacific

The unmanned Orion capsule splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on Sunday, back from orbiting the moon. According to United Press International, the spacecraft was being tested as a preliminary to NASA’s planned Artemis missions to the moon and possibly Mars.

Sports: Chargers leading Dolphins

At SoFi Stadium, the Los Angeles Chargers are leading the Miami Dolphins 20-14 late in the third quarter. Check back for final results after the game.

PRO BASKETBALL: The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Detroit Pistons 124-117 on Sunday. The Los Angeles Clippers will host the Boston Celtics on Monday.

PRO HOCKEY: The Los Angeles Kings lost 6-5 to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday. The Anaheim Ducks will visit the Ottawa Senators on Monday.

Weather: Morning rain, then sun

The rain isn’t quite done with the West Orange County area. The forecast calls for rain on Monday morning. The day should have a high of 57 with an overnight low of 41. Sunny skies are expected to be back on Tuesday with a high of 60 and a low of 40. Wednesday should be mostly sunny with a daytime high of 63 and an overnight low of 40. Partly cloudy conditions should follow toward next weekend.
