Shohei, Mike M. lift Angels

With a strong pitching performance by Shohei Ohtani and a three-run home run by Mike Moustakas in the sixth inning, the Los Angeles Angels defeated the San Francisco Giants 4-1 on Wednesday night and got back to .500 at 58-58.

Ohtani (10-5) worked six innings, giving up three hits and one earned run. He struck out five batters and walked three.

Moustakas gave the Halos their second win in a row after dropping seven straight by homering to right field for his 11th round-tripper of the season.

The Angels have Thursday off and will be in Houston on Friday to open a three-game series with the Astros.

Peralta’s blast lifts Dodgers

David Peralta broke up a scoreless tie Wednesday night with two-run home run in the eighth inning as the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 in Chase Field.

Bobby Miller worked six innings, giving up four hits and no runs. He struck out four and walked four. The win went to Caleb Ferguson (6-3), who pitched one perfect inning.

The Blue Crew benefitted from the Angels win over the Giants. They’re 67-46 and lead the National League West by six games.

On Thursday they return to Dodger Stadium to start a series with the Colorado Rockies.
