Six people were arrested and numerous weapons and gun parts and cash were seized by Garden Grove police on Thursday.
According to the GGPD , the operation began several weeks ago when the Gang Suppression Unit learned that an operation of drug sales and “ghost gun” manufacturing was taking place at two homes in the 9500 block of Katella.
A “ghost gun” is a weapon without an identifying serial number, and may be assembled from a kit.
Two possible suspects – Ann Marie Maya, 40, of Garden Grove and Jason Copeland, 29, of Garden Grove – were identified. They were wanted on narcotics and weapons charges.
On Thursday, the GSU – along with assistance from the Community Impact Unit, detectives, the Special Investigation Unit and Traffic Unit – served a search warrant at those locations.
Fourteen people were detained, including Copeland and Maya. During the search three ghost guns, one shotgun, six polymer “speed” loaders, high capacity magazines, two 3-D printers, a stolen motorcycle, over 19 ounces of various narcotics and $7000 in cash was seized.
Copeland, Maya and four others were arrested and later booked at Orange County Jail on various felony charges.
