TWO MEN have been arrested for allegedly committing robberies while posing as immigration officials in Anaheim and other locations(Shutterstock).
Two men who allegedly posed as immigration officials while robbing people in Anaheim were arrested in Fullerton last week. Similar incidents have been reported in Westminster and may be tied to robberies across Orange County and the Western U.S.
According to the APD, officers responded to two robberies on Thursday, June 20 between 5 and 6 p.m. in which the suspects approached victims, identified themselves as Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, demanded cash from the victims and fled in a blue sport utility vehicle.
About five hours later APD investigators found the suspect vehicle in Fullerton and arrested Laurentiu Baceanu, 19, and Vasile Alexandru, 19. They were booked for several counts of robbery and being held without bail.
It’s believed that they targeted Hispanic victims and may have used different vehicles, including a gray Volkswagen Atlas SUV and a blue Audi Q7 SUV.

How do you know the stock photo was a white guy? Skin color varies from ethnicity to ethnicity; there are dark-skinned “white people” and light-skinned Hispanics.
It says they were Romanian. We do have a lot of Roma Travelers. Could this be part of one of those Traveler groups? Or are they part of a Romanian criminal group? Laurentiu Baceanu and Vasile Alexandru are their names.
