Israeli airstrikes have hit locations in Yemen controlled by Houthi rebels, continuing the warfare that has raged across multiple cities in the Mideast.
According to the Associated Press, the attacks came Thursday against an airport in Sanaa and nearby seaports. Three people were reported killed and “dozens” injured in the strike at the airport.
Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen have fired rockets into Israel and Thursday’s aerial assault was the response.
Yemen has been in the grip of a civil war in 2014, and its armed forces have been unable to control militias that have seized control of parts of the country.
Will international students be expelled?
International students at some U.S. universities are being cautioned by the schools to return to campuses before President-elect Donald Trump is inaugurated on Jan. 20.
United Press International is reporting that Cornell University has sent such notices to returning international students in anticipation of a “change in the immigration landscape … under the new presidential administration.”
Trump has threatened mass deportation of undocumented aliens as well as international students who have taken part in violent protests. Other universities issuing warnings include Brown, Southern California, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
