The United Nations on Monday gave its approval for the security and governance of Gaza to the Trump Administration’s plan.
According to the United Nations, the Security Council put its stamp on the creation of an international stabilization force to keep the peace, the establishment of a transitional authority under the direction of President Donald Trump and could be a first step toward a future Palestinian state.
“This will go down as one of the biggest approvals in the History of the United Nations, will lead to further Peace all over the World, and is a moment of true Historic proportion!” the president posted on his social media Truth Social.
However, the authorization for several parts of the agreement will expire at the end of 2027.
Judge blocks National Guard in Memphis
Citing concerns about the use of National Guard troops for local law enforcement purposes, a judge in Tennessee temporarily blocked the deployment of soldiers to Memphis.
Some state and locals officials argued that Gov. Bill Lee had exceeded his authority in directing the state’s National Guard to the city, reports The New York Times.
The judge stated that crime alone “is not the type of emergency that would warrant the activation and deployment of National Guard members who are not trained law enforcement personnel.”
This case differs from a separate task force sent by the Trump Administration to Memphis.
