
ACCIDENTS tied to e-bikes and e-motorcycles will be the subject of a symposium in Huntington Beach (Shutterstock).
A statewide symposium on issues related to the rising number if injuries and fatalities connected to the use and abuse of electric bicycles and motorcycles will be held on Wednesday at the Senior Center in Central Park West in Huntington Beach.
The event is titled “From Problem to Policy: California Electric Device Safety Symposium.” It will bring together public safety professionals, educators, policy-makers and industry “stakeholders” to deal with safety issues.
Topics will include:
• legislation
• injury prevention
• enforcement trends and challenges
• rider behavior
• new technologies
• best practices for education and compliance.
Opening and closing remarks will be by Eric Parr, chief of police for Huntington Beach.
The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 18041 Goldenwest Street, near Talbert Avenue.
