A 10-run rally in the top of the seventh inning turned a tight contest into a blowout as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 12-3 on Tuesday night at PNC Park.
The Blue Crew rattled 15 hits around the field, while the home team could manage only five, and committed two errors.
With the win, the Dodgers are now 43-24 and lead the National League West by eight games over the San Diego Padres (34-31). The Buccs are 34-33 and fourth in the NL Central.
Andy Pages drove in three runs for LAD, two of those on a seventh inning home run. He’s now hit 15 home runs so far in 2026.
Shohei Ohtani drove in two runs and scored once. Max Muncy was 3-for-3 and Mookie Betts 2-for-6.
Eric Lauer had a pretty good start for LA, going 5.2 innings and giving up just three hits and two earned runs with five strikeouts and no walks. He was touched for two home runs, though.
Wilber Dotel (1-1) had a nightmare seventh inning, getting no outs while yielding five hits, six earned runs, one walk and a homer.
Angels 10, Astros 1: In Anaheim on Tuesday night, the Halos built up an early 7-0 lead and capped it with a three-run eighth to blow out the Houston team.
The Angels had 10 hits, including two each by Jo Adell and Oswald Peraza, who had three RBIs. Wade Meckler had one hit and was walked three times and scored three runs. He’s now batting .340.
Walbert Urena (4-4) pitched five three-hit innings. He struck out seven Astros, but walked five.
