Garden Grove

Final vote on “Nickelodeon’ plan

NICKELODEON HOTEL planned for Harbor’s west side (City of Garden Grove).

Another step toward the development of a 500-room 23-story hotel and commercial project on Harbor Boulevard goes before the Garden Grove City Council when it meets on Tuesday.

The council will consider the second reading and adoption of a planned unit development on a now-vacant lot at the northwest corner of Harbor and Twintree Avenue, east of Tamerlane Drive.

A Nickelodeon-themed hotel and associated offices, restaurants, and other attractions are planned for the project, which will be constructed immediately south of the Sheraton Hotel.

Also on the agenda is an Orange County environmental update and a Community Spotlight in recognition of first responders, city employees and response partners for their service during the hazardous materials incident at GKN Aerospace on Western Avenue over the Memorial Day weekend.

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
