Santiago moved into first place in the Garden Grove League football race after a 38-15 win over Bolsa Grande Thursday night.

The Cavaliers – 5-3 overall and 3-0 in league – are sole remaining unbeaten team in the GGL. Bolsa fell to 1-7 and 0-3.

However, the race for the title and a CIF-SS playoff spot is still looking like a four-way scramble.

Loara’s 21-0 defeat of La Quinta Thursday night put the Saxons back in the struggle and knocked the Aztecs out of a tie for first place. Loara is now 6-2 overall and 2-1 in GGL play and La Quinta is 3-5 and 2-1.

Orange’s 61-14 win over Estancia gave the Panthers (7-1) a half-game lead over Santa Ana for the Orange Coast League lead. Orange is 3-0 and the Saints are 4-3 overall and 2-0 in OCL play.

Here are scores from Thursday night local high school games. Results are posted as they become available.
