A SANTA ANA woman is facing a murder charge connection with the stabbing death of her husband (Shutterstock).
An argument between a husband and wife in Santa Ana has ended up with one person dead and the other in jail.
According to police, the incident took place on Thursday. The wife, identified as Michelle Gutierrez, 32, was later arrested and is in Orange County Jail in Santa Ana Tuesday, being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
The name of the husband was given only as Cesar R.
Police were summoned to the 1000 block of West Bishop Street on Thursday morning because of a domestic disturbance complaint. Arriving officers found Gutierrez outside the home with “serious knife wounds” to her upper chest. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Inside the house police found the body of the husband, who had been fatally stabbed. Police believe the incident may have been a failed murder-suicide attempt.
The argument led to the couple’s two children fleeing to a nearby relative’s house.
