Green lights toward re-openings

ORANGE COUNTY had fewer new cases, deaths, hospitalizations and ICU use in Sunday’s report (Shutterstock).

On the road to re-opening schools and businesses, all the lights turned green in Sunday’s report on the coronavirus in Orange County.

According to the county health agency, all four major metrics on the status of COVID-19 infections showed improvement. Confirmed new cases declined from 391 on Saturday to 252 on Sunday. Deaths fell from 44 to 40.

Additionally, hospitalizations from the coronavirus went from 591 to 577 and the use of intensive care units dropped from 196 to 190.

The to-date total of cases in the county is now at 244,632, with 223,522 considered recovered.  Deaths are at 3,810.

  • Santa Ana: 43,745 (681)
  • Anaheim: 40,672 (688)
  • Garden Grove: 15,974 (294)
  • Orange: 11,519 (198)
  • Fullerton: 10,936 (241)
  • Huntington Beach: 10,127 (175)

Westminster has had 6,849 cases and 147 deaths. Stanton has had 3,082 cases and 47 deaths.
