Rhonda Bolton, the newly-appointed seventh member of the Huntington Beach City Council, will be present next Tuesday for her first full meeting but that doesn’t mean the panel will be at full strength.
Although the council voted 4-2 at a special meeting on Monday to tap Bolton to fill the seat vacated through the resignation in June by Tito Ortiz and was swept in and seated , the council will still be short one member as Erik Peterson will be absent.
Topping the agenda for Tuesday will be:
- consideration of a resolution terminating the city’s local emergency declaration in response to COVID-19;
- establishment of an annual “Rockin’ Fig Day” to memorialize the life of local surf legend “Rockin’ Fig” Fignetti;
- requests by Councilman Mike Posey to direct the city manager to coordinate an agency cost reduction review, and ask the city council to convene a charter review committee to “develop and submit” updates to city charter language.
Tuesday’s meeting will be held in person in the council chambers in the Civic Center (2000 Main Street, at Yorktown Avenue) and via Zoom webinar. A closed session will begin at 5 p.m. and the regular meeting at 6 p.m.
